The Wedding Cake
There is so much you can do with wedding cakes, from the frosting, to their shape to the decorations. Here are a few different cakes from this theme.
Color Scheme
Natural colors work great for this theme (white and creams) along with some blues, teal, silver or yellows.
Decorations
Add a touch of the sea to your decorations. Seashells work great for an added touch to your centerpieces. Candles will also help with the relaxing feeling of the beach. Pearl white and blue (or teal) balloons also make a great addition to your room. If you are looking for more of a natural feel, you can use driftwood and rocks as decorations.
You can add a small seashell or two to the bride and bridesmaid’s hair. The flower girl can wear a seashell necklace and the ring bear pillow can be decorated with a few shells or star fish. Pearl necklaces also go very well with this theme.
Favors
Seashell Leis – Seashells make fun favors, especially for your younger guests. You can buy them in bulk from Oriental Trading or other crafts stores for fairly cheap.
Sand in a Bottle - Buy small heart or round shape bottles and feel them with sand and small sea shells. Then add a small thank you card with ribbon on the top. This is a great keepsake for your guests.
Seashell Soap – You can buy seashell soap in bulk or if you are ambitious you could make your own soap. Then put your soaps in bags, and tie with ribbon and add a thank you note. You could also add a flat seashell for a soap dish for your soap.
